I got these felt sheets to use for a non-traditional project. I got a keyboard that I really love but it was super loud due to the key strokes echoing through the board and my desk. I’m not sure what caused that issue exactly but I knew that, to fix it, I would need to put the keyboard on top of something to absorb the noise. Problem is, I move my keyboard around depending on how I’m sitting and I hated the large desk mat I tried because of this. After doing a good bit of thinking, I decided I needed something to cover the back of the keyboard that would absorb the noise, allow the keyboard to move around freely but not slip, and that I could trim to fit. I actually started looking at rolls of felt but found these adhesive sheets and decided they would be better suited to my project. I was so excited when I got them but upon opening the plastic package, I questioned if I would be able to use them. The chemical smell was so intense, I wasn’t sure it would fade enough. I took the sheets out of the plastic and laid them in another room for about 24 hours and, thankfully, the smell disappeared completely and I was able to use them.The adhesive is nice – strong, but not so strong you can’t peel it up and reapply it if you’re clumsy when installing things, like me. The actual sheets are pretty thin, which is perfect since I don’t really want my keyboard raised at all, but provides a decent noise barrier and I no longer have the awful echoing sound coming through my desk. I was able to easily trim the sheets to fit my keyboard – I used two sheets and it was super easy to line them up perfectly next to each other and even bend them around the little bump across the back of the keyboard. I was able to smooth out the couple of wrinkles I invariably made (see note above about being clumsy at installing things) and now you can’t see the sheet at all from the top and when you turn the keyboard over, it basically looks like it’s supposed to be there. Two thumbs up for that but less one star for the stench.

Wooden hangers are nice for hanging suit jackets and pants. Years ago I purchased felt (without adhesive backing) and using a hot glue gun, I cut it into strips and applied them to the shoulders of wooden hangers. The felt holds on to the shoulder lining of my suit jacket and keeps it from sliding off the hanger. The hot glue method was messy and time consuming. The felt sheets were not easy to cut and the glue was messy but it did the trick. I never got around to lining the bar below the hangar shoulder for draping the pants. When I saw these adhesive felt sheets, I knew they would be perfect for lining the hanger bars to hold the pants. I cut the felt sheets lengthwise into 1″ strips. I removed the adhesive backing paper and applied the felt along the length of the lower bar of my hangers. Now, when draping pants over the wooden bar, they do not slide off. It was a quick and easy process. It did not take more than 20 minutes to cover 10 hangers and they look great. I’m sure these would be great for lining boxes or multiple other uses. I only used 2 of the felt sheets. Highly recommended! See pic – the felt on the lower bar looks much nicer than the felt I cut and glued on the shoulders.
